Ghar-E-Hira
The Cave is located at a distance of three miles northeast of Makkah. Opposite it is the famous mountain called Jabal Shabir. Nothing grows on these mountains except thorny bushes. The mountain is higher than the lion. Above it is a steep slope and slippery peak. The Holy Prophet(PBUH) once climbed this peak with his companions. Before the revelation, the Holy Prophet used to live in this cave in the worship of many people. You would come home when you ran out of groceries. They would return to the cave with some food and engage in remembrance of God. The first blessings of the Holy Prophet were revealed in Ghar-e-hira.
"Read in the name of your Lord Who created man from a clot of congealed blood. Read, and your Lord is the Most Generous, Who taught knowledge with the pen. Man has been given knowledge, he did not know (1996-5)". When it was revealed, he was forty years old and the 27th date of Ramadan. According to ibn e hazam the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to visit the cave of the divine will, no one saw you go there and you would imitate him ”Nowadays, Haji's go to visit this cave.
